AW: Miri`s Saftladen

A Quick Personal Point of View to the Mystery of Fiber!
Do I use my Blender? Yes! Do I know that it has its limitations? Yes....Below I will share a bit of my 70 years of experience with juicing and blending, hoping you'll see some wisdom in what I am sharing with you today:
FIBER has zero nutrients.
Actually (depending on the foods tested) it has about 3% of the nutrients. Most ALL nutrients lie in the juices. And to further complicate matters, fiber does not do our body/digestion well, when we are not chewing that fiber. Do you see? When we eat a salad, we are releasing our salivary glands (ptyalin and amylase) once we start chewing. This is where it benefits the colon.
When you are blending, please do not think you're getting the 'entire' nutrition. This is a fallacy and something I have been speaking about for decades and decades. I want you to know the truth, so then you can come from a more empowered place, so that when you do decide, you'll know what is hype and what is true, as well as what to blend and what 'not' to blend.
When we choose to Blend, our salivary glands do not have a chance to release these salivary glands (through the chewing processes). This fiber is going into our digestion without those enzymes, which it needs in order for the colon to benefit the best. Dr. Walker himself says, the fibers from blending get caught into the large colon accumulate and give us trouble. This is why he was such an advocate of juicing over blending, and of course, since I studied under him and Dr. Gerson for so long, I too have this point of view.
It's not a popular point of view, I must say. That's because all the late great master teachers who have been teaching juicing are not alive anymore, and I am doing my best to try to separate truth from hype.
No matter how small the fibers from foods become, they are still fiber and must be processed as all fibers are. For example, If one millionth of a slice of fiber were to get into our bloodstream, we would die of a blood clot. Remember, when we are juicing, pulp free juices, we are receiving 100% of the benefits from the foods, and this is why our theory, as juice therapists.... was to remove the pulp, and extract the juices, were mostly 97% of the nutrients live.
On the contrary, I have to say that in our times, where we are stressed in life to a point of almost not even being interested in nutrition, I have softened my point of view as well as incorporated smoothies into my diet once a week or so. The reasons are because supergreen powders such as Healthforce's Vitamineral Green and the E3Live products are quite beneficial. When mixed with other greens or foods such as coconut milk and/or its water brings a vast array of nutrients I could not get from the juicer.
Furthermore I love fruit! (here's a short story)
When I first married Linda back in 1981, she would have a fit when she'd get into my Volkswagen Van, because all of the peels from oranges, tangerines, bananas as well as stone fruits would be strewn across the passenger's seat.....and I'm sorry to tell you this, but that habit is still in force!
The reason why I tell you this is because EATING fruits and blending them, can be more valuable than juicing. Why? Because soft fruits are almost all 100% water.
The fibers from fruits are nothing like the fibers from Carrots or other root vegetables or harder veggies. These fruits are almost all water, so this is how you can benefit the best from high water content fruits such as Papayas, Mangos, Berries, Watermelons, etc.,.These fibers are now being chewed, masticated by our mouths, releasing those precious enzymes (salivary enzymes I spoke about earlier).
The "best" way to keep your body healthy, in my opinion, is to juice your vegetables and greens, eat your high water content fruits, and blend with wisdom, except for hard fruits such as high fibrous fruits such as Apples. Also I do recommend the high powered dark supergreens I mentioned earlier.
Greens absorb into our system better when juiced, yet if you don't have a juicer, then by all means, blend away. Blending over juicing is certainly less nutritive than the other. However, circumstances can dictate, for some of you, if you only have a blender, then do your best. Someday, when you can afford a juicer, then it's best to have both!
One more thing I want you to remember...if you read the previous post generated by Breville, you'll see that when we BLEND...we are also ripping apart (caused by friction) many many many of the nutrients. So when you do blend, make sure to blending very slowly.
This is the process I have been adopting for close to the 70 years, and I am hoping it will have some value to you. Jay Kordich
Our Super-green Smoothie of the Day!
3 tablespoons of the Elite Green Protein (Healthforce's product)
2 cups frozen Organic Blueberries
1 inch fresh Ginger Root (shave off the skin)
2 cups fresh Coconut Water (or 1 cup water and 1 cup coconut milk)
2 frozen Organic Bananas.
Blend slowly...and enjoy.
No matter what it looks like (it will be very very dark green) it's delicious in taste and not a preferred food combination, but it's delicious and today is Good Friday. I'm an old Catholic boy, and getting ready right now to go to Mass with Linda.
Please know that my question and answer section in the Facebook is DISABLED. I don't know how to fix it, it's frozen somehow. If you need to reach me, you can write to me at:
